This site was created to help trap shooters discover trap shooting clubs in Nevada, learn about Nevada trap shooting events, and find opportunities to enjoy the sport throughout the state with the Nevada State PITA.
We'll help you discover Nevada trap shooting events! As programs become available, links will be posted on each trap shooting club's Nevada page. (Although this is the Nevada State PITA site, we also include information about other types of trap shoots as it is provided.)
The Nevada State PITA organization shall utilize the following procedure for selecting the Nevada State PITA Team. A selection committee will carry out this task at the end of the PITA shooting year. After the announcement of the new team, awards for this team will be presented during the upcoming Nevada PITA State Shoot, which is one of the premier Nevada trap shooting events.
The PITA State Team will comprise ten (10) individuals. All Nevada PITA shooters who meet the qualifications outlined below will be entered into a candidate pool for the State Team. They will be ranked based on their overall target average across the three (3) PITA disciplines: Singles, Handicap, and Doubles. The top ten (10) individuals in this pool will be designated as the State Team.
To qualify for selection to the Nevada State PITA Team, a PITA shooter must fulfill the following requirements:
1. Must maintain a legal residence within the State of Nevada at the end of the shooting year.
2. Must record a minimum of 1000 targets in each of the three (3) PITA disciplines. All PITA cross-registered targets obtained from an ATA event held at a Nevada club will count toward this requirement.
3. Must participate in all three (3) Championship Events held at the annual PITA State Shoot.
Eligible registered targets must include PITA targets from at least three (3) different clubs, with two (2) being trap shooting clubs in Nevada that host a PITA shooting event.
Target requirements at each club include 100 Singles, 100 Handicap, and 50 Doubles.
It is important to note that the club hosting the state shoot cannot be counted as one of these clubs unless you, as the shooter, attend another PITA shoot at that club apart from the state shoot.

These top scorers represent some of the finest in Nevada trap shooting events, showcasing the talent fostered by local trap shooting clubs in Nevada. From seasoned veterans to enthusiastic newcomers, each participant contributes to the vibrant shooting community under the Nevada State PITA.
The NSPITA will award a Rookie who achieves the highest combined score in the three Championship Events at this year's Nevada State PITA Shoot a buckle. To qualify, participants cannot have shot any registered targets (either ATA or PITA) prior to May 18th, 2025. This award is available to anyone, regardless of age or sex, who has resided in Nevada for a minimum of six months.
